Roblox Tips and Tricks

Roblox is a creative platform which allows players to use it in many different ways. It appeals to a lot of people across age groups and inclinations because it combines world-building with the kind of interaction offered up by social media sites. But since Roblox offers so much in just one package, many beginner players wonder how it is to play Roblox online, and where to start.

It can get overwhelming at first, but we’re here to make it easy for you. In this post, we are going to discuss how to first sign up with Roblox, followed by how to navigate the site, and then how to start playing. It all begins, of course, with creating an account and familiarizing yourself with how the tools and features work, so that you can become an expert player in no time.

How to Play Roblox

Start Your Roblox Account

Everything starts with this step. You can either download the Roblox app or go to on your browser. There will be instructions on how to create an account, so follow them carefully. You will need a valid email to confirm and validate your Roblox registration. Once you’re done, click on the button that says “My Roblox.” This will take you to the homepage where you can tweak your profile to your liking.

Roblox is now available to run optimally on the following Operating Systems: Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10, and Vista; Mac Lion (10.7) or higher; Chrome OS version 53 (or higher). It can also be run on the following supported mobile system devices: Android 4.4 or newer (with ARMv7 processor and no Tegra 2 chipset); Apple iOS 8 for iPad 2 or higher, iPhone 4s or higher, and iPod Touch 5th generation.

Get a Feel for the Basics

An essential part of knowing how to play Roblox on a computer is knowing how to navigate the site. Two of the most important features you will need to familiarize yourself with are the top and left navigation bars. On the top of the page, you will find your Account Settings where you can change your privacy settings, email or password, or control your memberships, etc. On the top bar are tabs for “Games,” “Catalog,” “Develop,” and “Robux” along with a search bar.

There is also the left navigation bar which links you to the Home page containing your Avatar information and more on Roblox, your Profile page showing your statistics, groups, etc., Messages, Friends (including those you follow and those who follow you, plus requests), Avatar (where you can customize and tweak accordingly), Inventory for all your gear and accessories, Trade for various transactions, Groups (where you hold memberships), Blog (for news and updates on everything Roblox-related), Upgrade Now, and Events which indicate special promos and holiday games.

Another feature that is important to read through is the site’s Terms of Use. In it are the Roblox Community Rules containing sections for Basic Rules and Additional Rules. The basic ones include the Guiding Principles or rules of conduct, along with protecting your personal information, and the non-tolerance of cyberbullying, harassment (sexual and otherwise), doxxing of others’ personal info, child endangerment, hate speech or actions, defamation and impersonation, threats and self-harm, using the site to look for dating partners, sexual or violent content, discrimination, and other dangerous, illegal, or unethical activities. The consequences and violations for going against these rules are also listed in the Terms of Use. These are meted out on a case by case basis depending on the severity or degree of the rule violation, which can range from a temporary to a permanent ban, through to being referred to law enforcement agencies to address the situation accordingly. It is as long as most terms of services go, but it is there to help keep the Roblox community a safe, non-toxic, and happy one.

In this light, anything that you witness which potentially goes against any of the Terms of Use should be reported straight away. All questions can be directed to [email protected] for bug fixes, reports on rule violations, location features and compatibility, and other concerns.

Roblox Navigation

Start Playing, Creating, and Interacting!

At this point, you’re all set to play Roblox games and have a spectacular time. Click on Games if you want to start exploring the games from Roblox developers that are available to play. You can view them using a filter system via the pull-down menu (you can choose among Popular, Top Rated, Recommended, Featured, Rthro, and Top Earning).

Remember that you will need to download the Roblox Browser before you can start playing. To do that, you will have to go to the Roblox site and log in to your account. Select a game you want to play and click on the Play button. This will instantly launch a pop-up window which installs the Roblox Player on your device. Your game will start as soon as the Player is fully installed.

Now let’s jump ahead to the Robux tab because this is the game’s online currency which you will use for upgrades, special abilities, starter kits, etc. You can start purchasing Robux according to the value you want and need for your games. Once you have some Robux to spend, you can start browsing through the Catalog on the top navigation bar. There, you will see a menu of items such as gear, accessories, body parts, collectibles, and clothing which you can filter by featured category, genre, or price. You can purchase anything from hats to wings, through to swords and featured faces to truly customize your avatar.

So those are the basics of getting a Roblox account and getting a feel for the games and all their features. In the next post, we will explore in detail all the methods and shortcuts to let you play your game optimally. If you have any more questions or want to give suggestions of your own, feel free to share them in the comments section. Until then…
